"Once we establish the temporary power supply we will be able to pump seawater into the reactors," a Tepco spokesman said.
Each helicopter is capable of carrying 7.5 tonnes of water at a time, but the pools each hold 2,000 tonnes, an expert told public broadcaster NHK.
If the automatic cooling system is not made to work soon the problems will only escalate. There are no details about the rate of water evaporation, number of helicopter required, and let's not forget that there are a at least 4 reactors in BIG problems.

Probably the major crisis is over and it will be fixed in the next few days, weeks etc.
Now the international experts have been involved, the governments and the reactors are treated as a major problem.
The problem escalated because it was tried to hide it, to quick fix it and it was not treated with the necessary government implication.
There are numerous reports of faking a lot of the security measures, reparations, safety etc.
The back-up safety system failed, and it was not explained why exactly they did not worked.
NOW after 4 days they are still trying to reconnect the power to the Nuclear Plant. 4 days with out the safety systems working at maximum??? this is inadmissible.
Human errors are the main cause of tragedies, even trough the earthquake and tsunami where the primary causes of the plant failure, the human involvement, not signaling the gravity of the problem, the limited involvement of the government and other Nuclear Authorities have made the Nuclear Power and Radiations to go out of hand.
I think the subject becomes taboo now. There is will be a slow and steady progress now in stabilizing the reactors and fixing the radiation leaking problem.
Let's hope there will be no more explosions no more other bad things. Let's hope the leaked radiations and radioactive substances will not do to much damage to the environment.
